Description
Art print based on an original gouache painting featuring a field of Fireweed in an area of the Kenai Peninsula that was ravaged by wild fires a year prior. As we traveled down to Homer, large areas were devoid of life and vegetation leaving only blackened, burnt areas. However, in the midst of this devastation, there were signs of life. Here and there throughout our trip, we saw fields of Fireweed. The one depicted in this painting was stunning. It felt appropriate to call this painting “Beauty from Ashes” as a reminder that even from the burn out landscapes, nature will rise again and once again become beautiful.
