Wherever you are, it’s likely that you will see a gorgeous sunset in one shape or form. Although I’m partial to Alaskan sunsets, I’ve had the chance to experience my share of sunsets in Texas now as well. This painting is based on a series of photos of Texas sunsets, captured over the course of several trips to the Houston-area. It attempts to capture that moment just before the sun sets below the horizon, when the sun illuminates not just the sky but also the surrounding clouds as well as the ground below. The range of colors seen during these moments rival the sunsets I see in Alaska.
This is the perfect painting for the collector that appreciates natural beauty and sunsets in particular.
