This painting features the Granite Creek area in Southcentral Alaska, just north of Sutton. It captures the towering Granite Peak in the distance, the slopes below and creek itself in the foreground as it winds through its rocky riverbed. It’s an attempt to capture nature at its best during the last few weeks of summer, before the leaves have turned and before snow has descended on the surrounding mountains. In way, it captures the cycle of nature through the river that flows from the distant mountains, the salmon returning to its spawning grounds and the bear eager to fatten up before winter arrives.

This painting has been painted with meticulous attention to detail and is perfect for the nature-loving collector that would love a bit of nature in their home.
