An original gouache painting inspired by a visit to the Eklutna Hayflats. Every summer, there is a section that produces a large amount of purple and blue Irises. When in full bloom, these fields are like an ocean of blue as far as the eye can see. Not only is it a beautiful scene when you take into account the flowers and the mountains in the background, it’s also a very serene setting. Despite the muted traffic noise in the background, it’s a peaceful and relaxing setting.
