Palmer Water Tower captures a bright winter day in Palmer, Alaska, during the cold snap of January 2024. Featuring clear skies and sunlight spilling over the Chugach Mountains, the painting highlights the town’s iconic water tower — a unique and beloved landmark visible from every direction downtown. With Matanuska Peak rising in the background, the scene symbolizes both the character of Palmer and the pioneering spirit of the original pioneers that braved a new place and sometimes harsh conditions to build something new.
Painted over several weeks in early 2024, this work is part of a series exploring the tower’s many perspectives, each offering its own backdrop and story.
