Refund and Returns Policy

We strive to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied and wish to return it, please contact me at contact@artbymattias.com within 14 days of receipt of order. Please include your order number.

Original Paintings

Original paintings can be returned for a full refund under certain conditions.

  • Return Period: You may return original paintings within 14 days of receipt.
  • Condition: The painting must be in its original, undamaged condition, so that it can be re-sold as new.
  • Return Process: Please contact me at contact@artbymattias.com within 14 days of receiving your painting to initiate the return process. Include your order number and reason for return in your email.
  • Shipping: You are responsible for return shipping costs. Please use a trackable shipping method and provide us with the tracking number. It is also your responsibility to ensure the order is packaged securely to avoid damage during the return shipping. I recommend insuring the shipment for its full value. Note that I am not responsible for any damage or loss incurred during transit back to me. In the event of loss and damage, no refunds will be issued and it is your responsibility to file a claim with the shipper for reimbursement.
  • Refund: Once I receive the returned painting and verify its condition, I will process your refund within 7-10 business days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

Prints

  • Non-Refundable: All prints are made to order and are non-refundable. We do not accept returns or exchanges on prints.
  • Shipping Damage Exception: In the unlikely event that you print arrives damaged or defective please contact us immediately at contact@artbymattias.com with your order number and photos of the damage or defect. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.

Sale Items

All items purchased during sales are final and are not refundable.

Commissions

Due to the custom nature of commissions, commissioned works are not eligible for a refund. With commissions, a 50% non-refundable deposit is collected up front prior to starting the work. I will retain this deposit even if you change your mind once the work has begun. Should you change your mind after work has begun, you are not obligated to pay the remaining balance. The outstanding 50% payment will be collected upon your acceptance of the final work, prior to shipping.

Once final approval has been given for your commission, no refunds are accepted.

Transit Damage

If your order is damaged during transit to your location, please provide photographic proof of the condition of the package, as well as any damage to the product, within 3 business days of delivery. Please email this information directly to contact@artbymattias.com. Retain the damaged packaging and item until I can notify you of next steps.
