Although winters can be dark and cold here in Alaska, there are many ways in which we can brighten up our environment, to bring a bit more warmth, whether it’s through actual heat or just lighting.
A Scandinavian Christmas tradition is to hang lit Christmas stars in windows during the Holiday season. Not only does it bring some color, but it also brings a sense of warmth. Or, as I’ve named this painting, Glow of Winter.
This painting was inspired by this tradition and features a Christmas star hanging in window while a snowstorm blows through outside. To me, it brings a sense of warmth and joy.
