Every Saturday of the Thanksgiving Weekend at 7:19pm, Stan Guthrie puts on a fireworks show in downtown Palmer, Alaska. A tradition for many years now, it’s one of the highlights of the holiday season that brings a show of joy and light during a dark season. Together with celebrating Thanksgiving, it gives us a reason to be thankful.

The reason for this painting was really to give something back to someone that gives so much to our local community. It features the Palmer water tower, a landmark of our small town, against a backdrop of a variety of fireworks.
